Frequently asked

Getting started

The basics of what TrustRiva is and how the platform is organised.

TrustRiva is a software discovery, comparison and trust platform. It brings together structured product information, software-company profiles, provider capabilities, reviews, verification signals and editorial guidance so buyers can research software with more context.

No. TrustRiva can catalogue software from different markets, but the platform gives extra attention to Kenya-specific buying questions such as M-PESA integrations, eTIMS workflows, local payroll requirements, local implementation capacity and pricing that Kenyan buyers can understand.

No account is required for normal public browsing, discovery and comparison pages. An account may be required for actions that need an identity, such as submitting reviews or accessing account-specific features.

A software product is the application or platform you may buy or use. A software company is the organisation behind one or more products. A service provider is a company with documented capabilities such as implementation, development, migration, consulting, training or support. One organisation can appear in more than one role when the available evidence supports it.

Frequently asked

Finding & comparing software

How to research, shortlist and compare software without hiding missing information.

Start from the software catalogue and browse by category or use the available filters. If you already know the outcome you need, Ask Riva can help narrow the catalogue around your requirements.

Riva Compare places selected products side by side using the structured information currently available on TrustRiva, such as pricing, features, platforms, deployment options, integrations, support and trust signals. Missing data is kept visible as missing rather than being guessed.

Ask Riva is a guided discovery tool. It uses your stated requirements to narrow TrustRiva's catalogue and surface relevant options. Its suggestions depend on the product evidence currently stored on the platform and should be treated as decision support, not a guarantee that a product is right for every organisation.

TrustRiva stores public pricing and product details only where reliable information is available. Vendors can maintain authorised listing fields, and TrustRiva may refresh independently researched catalogue information. Always confirm final pricing, taxes, plan limits and contract terms with the vendor before purchasing.

Reviews & trust

Understand what reviews, verification, Riva Score and Riva Picks actually mean.

Reviews are intended to represent genuine user experiences. Where review submission is available, TrustRiva may apply account, moderation, anti-abuse or evidence checks before a review is published or treated as a stronger trust signal.

No. Reviews and verification are separate signals. A listing can have user reviews without being verified, and a verified listing does not mean every review is positive or that TrustRiva guarantees the product.

Riva Score is TrustRiva's evidence-based scoring layer. A score should appear only when the platform has enough of the inputs required by its scoring policy. TrustRiva does not seed artificial scores merely to make a listing look established.

Riva Picks are evidence-gated editorial rankings or shortlists. Editorial copy can explain why an option may be relevant, but it does not silently change review ratings, verification status or the underlying ranking evidence.

Frequently asked

Vendors & service providers

How product claims, company profiles and documented service-provider capabilities work.

Use the TrustRiva vendor portal and the available claim workflow. Use a business email where possible and be ready to provide evidence that you are authorised to manage the product or company profile. Claim approval and verification are separate processes.

No. Vendor-managed profile fields are kept separate from independent reviews, verification decisions, editorial content and platform-generated trust signals. Vendors can correct authorised listing information, but they should not be able to rewrite independent trust evidence.

TrustRiva maps provider capabilities only when there is evidence that the company directly offers services such as implementation, software development, consulting, migration, training or support. Selling software by itself does not automatically make a company a custom-development or consulting provider.

Some companies are primarily product vendors. If TrustRiva cannot verify direct consulting, implementation, development, migration, training or similar services from public or vendor-supplied evidence, the provider-service list is intentionally left empty rather than inferred.

Frequently asked

Accounts & support

Accounts, safe support and what to include when you need help.

A normal TrustRiva user account is for buyer/user activities made available by the platform, such as reviews and account settings. The vendor portal is for organisations managing eligible product or company listings, claims and vendor-specific workflows.

Start with the Help Center and these FAQs. If you still need assistance, use Contact Us. Include enough context for the team to understand the issue, but remove passwords, private keys and other secrets before sending screenshots or logs.

Describe what you were trying to do, the page or feature involved, what you expected, what happened instead, and the approximate time of the issue. Screenshots can help, but remove sensitive information before sending them. Never include passwords, private API keys, authentication codes or payment PINs.

No. TrustRiva support should not need your account password, private API key, card PIN, M-PESA PIN or one-time authentication code. If anyone asks for those credentials while claiming to be TrustRiva support, do not share them.
