Privacy in plain language

TrustRiva collects and uses information needed to operate the platform, keep accounts and public listings working, support software discovery and reviews, respond to requests, protect the service and improve reliability. This policy explains the main categories of information involved and the choices available to you.

01

Information we collect

The information TrustRiva receives depends on how you use the platform.

Account and profile information

When you create or manage an account, we may receive information such as your name, email address, account role, profile details and other information you choose to provide.

Company, software and provider information

Vendors, companies and providers may submit listing details, product information, service capabilities, business contact details and supporting information intended for review or publication on TrustRiva.

Reviews and community contributions

We may receive reviews, ratings, comments, reports, evidence or other content you submit through TrustRiva's review and integrity features.

Support and enquiry information

Contact forms, problem reports and similar support channels may include your email address, the affected page, issue description, reproduction steps and other context you choose to send.

Technical and usage information

Like most web services, TrustRiva may receive request and device information such as IP address, browser or device type, timestamps, requested URLs, session identifiers and diagnostic logs when the service is used.

Cookies and session information

Cookies or similar browser storage may be used for sessions, authentication, security, preferences and other functions needed to provide the website.

02

How we use information

TrustRiva uses information for purposes connected to operating and protecting the platform.

  • Provide, authenticate, maintain and secure accounts and platform features.
  • Publish and maintain software, company, provider and review information where the content is intended to be public.
  • Power discovery, comparison, search, editorial and trust-related functionality.
  • Respond to enquiries, support requests, problem reports, correction requests and integrity concerns.
  • Detect abuse, investigate suspicious activity, enforce platform rules and protect users and the service.
  • Diagnose errors, maintain reliability and improve how TrustRiva works.
  • Meet legal, regulatory, dispute-resolution or record-keeping obligations where they apply.
03

Reviews, listings and public content

Some TrustRiva features are designed to make information publicly discoverable.

Information submitted for a public software, company or provider profile may be displayed publicly. Reviews, ratings and other contributions intended for publication may also be visible to visitors together with the attribution or account information the product is designed to show.

Private support messages, internal problem-report notes and information submitted only for administration or verification are not intended to be public by default. However, information may be reviewed by authorised TrustRiva administrators where necessary to process the request, protect the service or investigate an integrity issue.

Before submitting content for publication, avoid including personal information that is not necessary for the listing, review or report.

04

Problem reports and support communications

Support channels may require enough context for us to understand and investigate an issue.

Do not send secrets through support forms

Do not include passwords, one-time passwords, API keys, private keys, card credentials, M-PESA PINs or other authentication secrets in Contact Us, Report a Problem, reviews or other public/support submissions.

Problem reports can include an issue category, page URL, summary, description, reproduction steps, expected result, actual result and contact email. TrustRiva stores submitted reports so administrators can investigate, update status and keep internal handling notes. Email notifications may also be sent when email delivery is configured.

05

Cookies and similar technologies

TrustRiva may use browser storage required for sessions, security and site functionality.

Some cookies are necessary to keep users signed in, protect forms, remember session state or provide requested features. Additional cookies or third-party technologies may be used if related integrations or analytics are enabled.

You can usually control cookies through your browser. Blocking required cookies may prevent authentication, preferences or other parts of TrustRiva from working correctly.

06

When information may be shared

Information is disclosed only where there is a platform, service, legal or user-directed reason to do so.

Public features

Content submitted for public listings, profiles or reviews may be made available to TrustRiva visitors.

Service providers

Infrastructure, hosting, email or other technical providers may process information on TrustRiva's behalf when those services are used to operate the platform.

Legal and safety needs

Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal process, investigate abuse or protect rights, safety and service integrity.

At your direction

Information may be shared when you request or clearly authorise a workflow that requires disclosure.

07

Data retention

TrustRiva does not apply one fixed retention period to every category of information.

Information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain accounts and public records, resolve disputes, investigate abuse, preserve service integrity, meet legal obligations or maintain appropriate backups. The appropriate period can vary depending on the type of record and why it is needed.

When information is no longer reasonably required, it may be deleted, anonymised or otherwise removed from active use, subject to legitimate operational, backup and legal constraints.

08

Security

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the platform, while recognising that no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

TrustRiva uses application, access-control and operational measures intended to reduce unauthorised access, misuse and accidental loss. Users are responsible for keeping their own credentials secure and for promptly reporting suspected account compromise or security concerns.

09

Your privacy choices and rights

Your available rights depend on the law that applies to you and the nature of the information involved.

Subject to applicable law and appropriate identity verification, you may be able to request access to personal information about you, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request deletion in appropriate circumstances, object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.

Some requests may be limited where TrustRiva must retain information for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, freedom of expression, public-interest records or other lawful reasons.

To make a privacy request, use the Contact Us page and clearly identify the request as privacy-related. We may ask for enough information to verify that the request relates to you before acting on it.

10

Third-party services and links

TrustRiva may link to vendor websites, documentation, external products and other third-party services.

When you leave TrustRiva or interact directly with a third-party service, that third party's own privacy practices apply. TrustRiva does not control the privacy or security practices of independent external websites merely because they are referenced or linked from the platform.

11

Children

TrustRiva is designed as a software and business-technology platform, not as a service directed to children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to TrustRiva in a context where it should not have been collected, contact us so the situation can be reviewed and appropriate action taken.

12

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as TrustRiva's features, service providers, legal obligations or data practices evolve.

The current version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes may also be communicated through other appropriate TrustRiva channels where required or useful.

13
